Drugs on Forums is Monica's full-time PhD project. Monica is trained in psychology, specialising in addiction studies and research methods. Monica has maintained high academic standing throughout her studies, and received a first class mark for her honours thesis. She also has five years experience as a research assistant working for alcohol and drug research institutes and organisations, in Perth and now in Melbourne. She is also very familiar with online forums!

Monica is closely supervised by Assoc Prof Simon Lenton who has appropriate doctoral qualifications and extensive experience in illicit drug research. Simon is a Deputy Director and Project Leader in the Illicit Drug Use research program at the National Drug Research Institute.

Additional supervision is available from Assoc Prof Matthew Allen, an expert in Internet Studies at the Faculty of Media, Society and Culture. Matt is also the President of the international Association of Internet Researchers.
