The National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) offers potential students the opportunity to undertake doctoral research at one of Australia's leading alcohol and other drug research centres.
Applications to enter NDRI's doctoral research program can be made at any time of the year and study can be undertaken from anywhere within Australia.
By undertaking a PhD at NDRI, students have the chance to contribute real solutions to the growing problems of alcohol and other drug misuse in Australian society.
A Wealth of Research
NDRI currently employs around 17 research staff, encompassing some of the best alcohol and other drug research expertise and experience in Australia. Researchers are drawn from a range of disciplines including psychology, epidemiology, public health, sociology and anthropology.
Research methods reflect the diversity of staff expertise and include: design and evaluation of interventions; ethnography; in-depth interviews and focus groups; measuring alcohol- and drug-related harm; national surveys and monitoring; randomised controlled trials; secondary analysis of datasets; and social impact surveys.
